STAGE

Agua de Beber (2023)

Inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Brazilian samba, this piece is a journey of relationships built and then lost, of love that will not return.  Original music score by the choreographer with influences from Antônio Carlos Jobim. Performed at the Seattle International Dance Festival.

Grains of Sand (2021)

A research project with students from Circadium School of Contemporary Circus as part of their Winter Creation Lab.  Incorporating unique circus disciplines while still retaining a continuation of choreography became the central focus of the work. The piece features an original score by the choreographer with text by Jorge Luis Borges.

Rite of Passage (2018)

A dance based on ritual themes derived from Sufi dancers and European monastic traditions.  The piece aimed to use the extremes of physical exertion to bring dancers into a heightened state of exhaustion/euphoria.  Performed as research at the University of Iowa.

Only Human (2022)

Combining live dance with projected digital dance, the piece examines mental health, negative self-talk, and our inner demons.  Using humor, text, and an original musical score by the choreographer, the piece is both introspective and highly performative. Performed at the Seattle international Dance Festival.

Yeah Yeah Yeah (2020)

This piece combines dance with live music, spoken word, stage combat, and theater.  The work examines the nature of performance on stage and on internet social media, looking at how images are curated to reflect our best while other motives may lurk.  The piece centers around the use of an audio looper and this is folded into the technique of the dance and all of the sound is original. Performed as research at the University of Iowa.

XY (2018)

A collaborative duet with artist Alex Crozier using acrobatic partnering to explore the nature of male relationships, performed at the Seattle International Dance Festival.

Apocalypse, Ecstasy (2018)

Keeping in mind both the academic and colloquial meanings of these two words, this piece explores overwhelming circumstances and a cascade of emotions, in both a dream world, as well as in the current events of our times and lives.  Performed for Full Tilt Dance Festival in Seattle.

Let Mew Show You (2016)

An experiment between a bboy and a contemporary ballet dancer in shared vocabulary, musicality, and freedom within movement.  Performed at Battle for the Dance Belt in Seattle.

Don't Sweat It (2016)

A duet choreographed with Blair Elliot as an exploration into partnering shapes, transitions, and moods.  Performed at the Seattle International Dance Festival.

Climbing on the World Tree (2011)

This piece was designed around religious ideas of a world tree, from Norse and other cultures, that acts as a pathway between the realms of the underworld, the earth, and the heavens.  The wise fool is the one who can climb between these worlds at will. Performed at Middlebury College as a thesis capstone project.
